Coco's Pixar movie

Just a month ago I saw Pixar's Coco's movie and must say that is an amazing movie. Since Toy Story I'm a big Pixar's fan but Coco is something else: the animation, the colors, the characters, the places, the jokes, the songs and the story, everything is so well crafted. The passion, research, and tons of talent and creativity are all over the proyect. To me as mexican Coco is a beautiful tribute for my country's culture.

At the moment I've seen the movie 4 times (my daughter loves the songs and the dog) and every time I find new details in the scenes, it's amazing. I wanted to know more about the creation of this movie so I was checking Amazon's site and  I found just what I need: "The Art of Coco", must say it's an excellent book that gives you a complete and detailed tour arround all the complexity behind the art and design of a movie like this.  I found the next video in youtube so you can visualize how great is this book:

My favorite things in the book were how this great artists solve problems like:

¿How do you represent the second death? I mean the death from one person who is already in the land o the dead.

¿How do you create a land of the dead that is not sad or creepy?

¿How do you get skulls and bones express emotions?

About Technology: It is well known that Pixar experts are always innovating and solving really complex animation problems. Coco was not the exception, among some of the challengues:

1. The clothes and bones interaction.
2. The millions of lights that have to be rendered in the land of the dead.
3. Skulls with emotions and personality.
4. One of the more convincing fogs.
5. Every skeleton has 127 bones to animate many of them under the clothes.

If you want to now more i found the Pixar's Online Library where you can download many interesting papers.

Hope you enjoy Coco
